Mission Hills Farmers Market Partners with Local Chefs, Next Chef's Market Dinner at the Red Door, January 21, 2011

A Delicious Idea for a Delectable Gift

San Diego – October 30, 2010, SD Home and Garden 2010 Silver Fork winner¸ Mission Hills BID 2010 Business of the Year and one of “San Diego’s Hot New Restaurants” (SD Magazine, Feb. 2010), The Red Door Restaurant and Wine Bar suggests a delicious idea for a holiday gift – tickets to their four course Chef’s Market Dinner, Friday January 21st, 2011.

Guests will have the unusual opportunity to not only explore the Mission Hills Farmers Market with Executive Chef Brian Johnston but to also dine with him at The Red Door.  Chef Brian will be preparing a select seasonal menu with dishes specially created for this event. He will be offering up his culinary advice both in the market and during dinner with insights into the best ways to use items that are available during the winter months as well as wine pairings for winter dishes.  Each diner will also take home two of Chef’s mouthwatering recipes.

“Our menu of contemporary comfort cuisine is perfectly suited for chilly winter months,” said Chef Brian. “I’m also looking forward to spending time with our guests, especially since so many of our diners also become our friends.”

Now in its second year, The Red Door continues to focus on quality renditions of familiar foods in a welcoming environment while also maintaining an active relationship with Mission Hills and San Diego.  The Market Dinner will be the perfect launch event as Chef Johnston looks toward introducing more locally grown, organic and seasonal menu items in 2011.

Tickets can be purchased for $40/person for the four course market dinner or $65/person with wine pairings by calling the restaurant at 619 295 6000.  Seating is limited to 14 guests.  The market walk begins at 5 followed by dinner at 6:15.
